San Jose to Golden Gate Bridge Bike Ride

November 6, 2004

Stopped for a natural break on Skyline Blvd, near the turn-off for Half moon Bay. Noe the clothes pins on the break cable. These are used as a (somewhat successfully) as a map holder. (170kb) A dam across San Andres Lake (I think), with a bike path and a jogging trail across the top. The entire stretch is paved, with signs showing a 15MPH speed limited for bikes. radar enforced! I didn't see any radar guns though. (112kb) Same dam. The fog bank is barely visible in the upper left corner. (121kb) This was the end of the bike path. Back on to the shoulder of a real road! (Skyline Blvd) (221kb)
Finally on the bridge. Orange Bike. Orange Bridge. Notice the water, surf and cliffs far below. (120kb) The bridge is more of a rust color then the bike. Kind of clashes. (165kb) Levi Leipheimer look-alike flying by me. (130kb) Over exposed racer X. (123kb)
Notice the little people to the left of the tree staring at me. (155kb) Vertical lines everywhere. (126kb) I like the yello stripe on the otherwise orange bridge. (116kb) This was roughly my view of the handlebars all day. (125kb)
